Practising Firing & Semaphore

Reveille 6. Turn out 7.45.  Glorious weather still continues. Physical training at 10 am.

During the morning a Transport in our convoy was practising firing, from two guns she had on the stern, at a target towed a considerable distance behind.

2.30 pm, 2nd infection of inoculation.

Semaphore signalling class on Poop deck at 3pm.  Sling hammocks in the open, a quiet chat on the poop deck and turn in our hammocks at 8pm, being much too warm to sleep in our bunks.

We had been averaging 12 knots per hour during the day. Steaming South by East.
