Wake up this morning in a stiff and aching condition after sleeping so comfortable on the plain boards. The wind had moderated into a breeze.
After breakfast of 2 or 3 dry biscuits per man, we were ready to move off by the lighters and tug that came along side at the quay. When we were all aboard , we were soon underway and put safely aboard our ship without further mishap.
After dinner have a good wash and shave to make up for time lost when on shore, we had managed to get in a rather dirty condition as we were not able to get a wash.
Spend quiet afternoon and evening chatting about our adventure and rough night on shore.
Retire at 8.30 for a good night’s rest. Lights out at 9.
