Dear Ellen,
We have been stationed at this park all day today, starting for Salisbury Plain! tomorrow morning if we are not sent back to Ramsgate or Dover. The latest telegram up to now says we are to proceed unless otherwise ordered, it is owing to the unsettled affair of the other european powers.

Postmark dated 3 Aug 14, Guildford – on 4 August 1914 Britain declared war on Germany.
Although Frank wrote ‘Hamport Park’ we believe this to be Amport.
